I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.

Last Friday night we were up at the lake at the trailer. It was a gorgeous night and sitting by the fire I noticed the moon on high and that it was full. In many rural areas, one can see antique farming equipment as in the photo below. They are presently used as lawn decorations all too often. When I see them I try to photograph them and as I do I think of the many persons who used these pieces and worked the land in all kinds of weather to feed their families and their stock.
